I'm a list maker and over planner, too. i like schedule, I like routine and I don't like when things are thrown off. This post is important to me, I really need to ask "what now?" instead of "what next?"
All major ascpects of my life are literally in the hold-it zone. They have been for a while now and it's incredibly frustrating and hard not to let sadness and doubt take over. asking "what now" is similar to a quote by Elisbaeth Elliot that says something like "sometimes all you can do is take the next step, so take the next step God will meet you there" that's where I am, I have no idea whats ahead of me (does anyone really) but I need to take the next step He has put in front of me and trust that He will fulfill His promises in His planned time.

I am one of those over-planners. This post really helped me to see the importance of not being bored by "lack of things to do." That is an important question that I will have to answer during the next year, while I take a break between high school and college. Thanks for the post! And sorry I haven't been able to comment in a while!

I just knew I had to read this as soon as I skimmed the first line and boy, was I right! I needed this ever-so-much! Thank you, Shannon, for giving me a lot to think about! I don't think I'm in much of a Hold-It place right now, however there are a lot of questions swirling around in my life. I think that learning how to ask "What now?" instead of "What next?" was at the heart of my From Dependable to Daring series (which ended over at my blog today!).
Thanks again for this thought-provoking stuff!
